       relied on to rally the KY slave holders to the commands of Gen. Bragg and E.
       Kirby Smith before the defeat at Perryville. Later, Asst. Secretary of War for the
       Confederacy. ALS and hand-written biography.

115- FACSIMILE OF THE LAST HISTORICAL LETTER WRITTEN BY LINCOLN for the  benefit of the  soldiers at the Chicago Sanitary Fair in 1865 (marked as such on  the  back. Comes with 1911 letter of transmittal stating only a limited number were made.)
116-   MAJOR DANIEL McCOOK (1798-1863) Mortally wounded in an attempt to capture Rebel Gen. John Hunt Morgan. Father of 'The Fighting McCooks'. Court order  filled out and signed as Clerk of the Court in Carroll Cty., OH.
